Happy Sys Admin Day to all you Systems Administrators out there. I hope you have had a fantastic day and the people you work with have recognized you for all your work to keep them up and running.
I've been a little absent lately because there have been a lot of things going on in life. I'm employed again and my streaming has been taking off considerably better than I had anticipated.
About a month and a half ago I began employment for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) in the area and have been greatly enjoying the work so far. I'm still getting acclimated somewhat to how things are done and some of our clients, but the change of pace has been very good for me and I'm much less stressed because I'm not the only person that has responsibilities over the IT infrastructure.
Now, because I am working for an MSP, I cannot do work for any businesses in the area. As most MSPs do, there is a non-compete clause in my contract that prohibits this. That being said, I would still welcome any requests for personal business.
In regards to my stream: I'm floored by the support. Whether you follow my stream or not, there has been a tremendous increase in support over the past 2 months that has greatly encouraged me in everything that I do. I'm not the most outgoing person in the world, but the fact that I'm doing this as myself shows that if you are honest with yourself, you really can do what you love.
That's all for my post today. I do hope to post more often now that things have settled down a little bit and I'm becoming more acclimated with my job. Here's to another year for Systems Administrators!
